Farringdon’s best selling lap timer just got better

To include performance monitor technology, the only extra components added to the already very compact lap timer is a wheel speed sensor.
Get continuous comparisons against your fastest lap, instantly know weather your up or down a tenth or even a hundredth at every point of the race track.

The FD20 Data Logger

Farringdon’s FD20 Data logger is vastly capable motorsport logger. As with all Farringdon instruments great care has be taken to engineer a product that exceeds expectation both in function and in build quality.

The FD20 is a 20+ channel data logger
Up to 8 user channels – e.g. steering angle, brake pressure, throttle position
500 samples per second data logger
Data is recorded onto a removable SD flash memory card. Not only does this provide a huge memory, but it dispenses with down load leads and long down load times.
Sandisk Ultra II Plus 2GB cards allow connection via USB or card reader
Battery supported Clock and Calendar record start and stop times for each session
ECU interface (optional) pull data straight from your ECU no need for extra sensors
Compact size 95mm x 80mm x 30mm (excludes loom)
Track mapping
Performance monitor option continuing real time splits against your fastest lap, instantly see weather or not a new line or set-up change is faster “click for video”
Machined from billet aluminium
Available as a stand alone engine logger please call for details
Data analysis and plotting is by Podium Flash Windows™ software

  Channels Recorded

Speed, RPM, Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature, Water Temperature, Fuel Pressure, Longitudinal, and Lateral G, Gear, Battery, Logger Temperature, Lap Time and Distance.
8 analogue user channels
New for 2009, data from engine ECUs can be captured by the logger. Set Up pages within Podium Flash allows the user to select data from the ECU to be used rather than signals from additional sensors. (interface required call for details)

The logger is supplied as stand alone or with one of our Farringdon displays to create a complete data logging system. Complete systems provide warnings on the display for temperatures or pressures exceeding or dropping (respectively) from settable limits. The SWIS20 display includes a gear position display and nine individually settable shift lights.
Logging starts when the selected trigger occurs. Options are when power is applied; the engine starts or the trigger speed is exceeded. Logging stops when power is removed. Because so much memory is available (all systems are supplied with 512 M bytes as standard) there is no need to log different channels at different rates - all channels are sampled at the same rate. The maximum rate of 500 samples per second can be used for some simple monitoring of suspension travel and of course is more than adequate for RPM, speed, temperature and pressure measurement.

Sensors available separately
Custom wiring looms also available please call for details.
